6 Reason to (Re)read The Kiss of Deception

Have you read The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson?

Whether you've started this incredible fantasy series yet or not, with Dance of Thieves coming out so soon, we'd be remiss if we didn't share the top 6 reasons to start reading right now!

1. The Friendship
Lia runs away from her unwanted arranged marriage with the help of her handmaid and best friend Pauline. Lia and Pauline remain loyal and wonderful to each other throughout the entire series. +1000000 points for excellent female friendship.

2. The Mystery
When Lia runs away, she's chased by an assassin and the prince she was supposed to marry. Both men find her and befriend her, but she doesn't know which one is which... and neither does the reader, AKA you! ???? Will Lia fall for her would-be killer or the prince she ditched on their wedding day?

3. The SWOONS
Two cute prospects, twice the swoon, to be quite honest.

4. The Worldbuilding
The characters are great but the world they live in is even more incredible. There are so many layers and so much rich history it honestly feels like all of the big cities and small towns described in this book are real places.

5. The Magic
The magic in this fantasy series is a bit more subtle. Instead of wands or elemental powers, certain characters have these gifts that connect them to the land, their ancestors, and their communities. It's so subtle but still such an important piece of the story.

6. Dance of Thieves
As previous mentioned, the best reason to start reading The Kiss of Deception RIGHT NOW is impending release of Dance of Thieves. While the original trilogy concluded Lia's story, this new duology about Kazi and Jase has plenty of cameos from some of our absolute favorites from The Remnant Chronicles. Get that reread going and don't miss a single familiar face!

On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her.
