8 Binge-Worthy Books to Keep you Company Over the Holiday Break

8 Binge-Worthy Books to Keep you Company Over the Holiday Break

We have a confession.

As much as we love reading, sometimes it's hard to deny the call of an epic TV binge. We're talking multiple episodes, get up only for snacks and bathroom breaks, Netflix asking us if we're still actually watching epic TV binge.

But then we resurface and we realize that we've made a HUGE MISTAKE and wasted all of this time NOT READING, especially since our TBR pile has somehow doubled in size while we weren't watching. (No, NOT because of preorder we forgot about, definitely not that.)

So in an effort to combine our love of a good TV binge and our love of books and to keep you (ok, us) from watching 10 seasons of a procedural crime show over the holiday break, here's a list of books that are similar to some of our most favorite binge-able shows!

Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo
Are you all about K-Pop and K-Dramas? In Somewhere Only We Know, K-Pop star Lucky escapes her security and goes on a one-day whirlwind adventure with a cute guy named Jack (who is actually a paparazzo!). And, PS, if you want more K-Drama and less K-Pop, be sure to also pick up Maurene Goo's I Believe in a Thing Called Love

—it's about a teen who uses K-Dramas as a guide for how to get the guy!

Lifestyles of Gods and Monsters by Emily Roberson
Imagine a world where Greek mythology and The Kardashians existed in one modern-day TV show. The perfect celebrity drama that you need to start reading ASAP, right? Don't miss this one!

Symptoms of a Heartbreak by Sona Charaipotra
If you love a good medical show, but with less drama and more romantic comedy (think Doogie Howser, not Grey's Anatomy), Symptoms of a Heartbreak is the book for you!

The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg
Are you more inclined to binge-watch sci-fi shows like Westworld, may we recommend binging The Kingdom as well? It has the added bonus of a Disney World-like amusement park that is definitely not the happiest place on earth.

The Chosen by Taran Matharu
Taran Matharu's latest is definitely for anyone who loves a good adventure show or movie binge, but also for the person who starts playing a video game (ex: Assassin's Creed or Tomb Raider) after right dinner and then suddenly it's 2am and time has lost all meaning.

The Renegades Trilogy by Marissa Meyer
Not only do we enjoy binging multiple seasons of our favorite superhero shows in a row but we also binge multiple SHOWS in a row (see Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, The Runaways, and so many more). And NOW you can even binge the entire Renegades trilogy since the third and final book in the series just came out in November!

Sweet Black Waves by Kristina Pérez
Have you already watched every episode of Outlander at least once? If yes, you'll definitely want to binge read Sweet Black Waves and its sequel, Wild Savage Stars. The best part? The third and final book in this swoon, lush fantasy hits shelves in 2020 so you won't have to wait too much longer to find out how it all ends!

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
Fact: There is no show as brilliant as Leigh Bardugo's books on any TV network or streaming service... yet! If you can wait just a little bit longer (patience is hard, we know), you'll soon be able to watch Shadow and Bone ON NETFLIX!!!
