What would the characters of The Shadows Between Us be doing in quarantine?

Luckily for them, they’re all in a palace together, so no one will truly be alone.

Alessandra is making new dresses and flirting shamelessly with all the men.

Kallias is fending off Alessandra’s admirers and trying to get her alone as much as possible. With no messengers able to come into the palace with news of his fast-growing empire, he’s forced to ignore politics for a time.

Leandros is playing billiards with Petros and Rhouben. He’s also looking for a lady to call his own. Mostly he tries to be with Alessandra when Kallias isn’t paying attention.

Rhouben is hiding from his betrothed, Melita. Now that he’s confined to the palace, he only has so many places to hide.

Petros is basking in all the attention from the ladies and men. He’s a huge hit with all of the courtiers. Naturally he finds himself caught up in more drama than ever.

Now that Alessandra has convinced Rhoda she doesn’t need to be in mourning for the husband she never loved, Rhoda is performing for the court—she has a lovely voice. She’s changed out of all her black attire, but she’s holding on to it, since she can’t safely donate it to the poor just yet.

Melita is trying to snag a husband. She’s devastated that she can’t hire a seamstress to make clothes that look just like Alessandra’s. So she begs Alessandra to teach her to sew. They have to get really creative when they run out of materials. Kallias surely won’t notice when those curtains go missing…
